More than 100 Equal Education members and supporters will attend a Vigil at Jameson Plaza at UCT (Upper Campus) 9 June 2010 at 11:55 pm. The Vigil will be preceded by a discussion about the way forward and the distribution of leaflets at St. Georges Cathedral, Cape Town which will begin at 5:30.
Groups of people from a variety of schools around Cape Town will come together to think and discuss strategies looking forward for the libraries campaign, particularly the fast for school libraries that is scheduled for the 30 July 2010. The upcoming fast and hunger strikes will be on the agenda. In the evening, Equal Education will run an activity that draws from the effective hunger strikes examples around the world and South Africa.
Equal Education members will light candles and sharing their experiences in township and suburban schools as well as renew their commitment to the struggle of quality education and the provision of libraries to all schools.
