Sleep-in outside Parliament, 12-14 July 2011

On 12 July 2011, Equal Education began a sleep-in outside Parliament to exert pressure on Basic Education Minister Angie Motshekga to adopt regulations providing for Minimum Norms and Standards for School Infrastructure. We had permission to remain outside Parliament until 13 July at 4pm. When the police instructed us to leave, we unanimously decided we would continue our sleep-in for a second night and, in doing so, risk arrest.
