Equal Education is a dynamic, youth driven social movement striving for an equal and quality education system for all through advocacy and activism, informed by rigorous research. Equal Education is organised in five provinces: Eastern Cape, Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal, Limpopo, and the Western Cape. Equal Education works by identifying systemic and localised problems affecting the quality of education and addresses these problems through local and national campaigns; a commitment to robust political education and campaign strategising with members; and building a strong research base through primary and secondary research.
Audit Committee:
EE is required to constitute an audit committee to comply with the provisions of the section. The National Council (NC) wishes to enhance good corporate governance and transparency by appointing an Audit Committee, which will play an oversight role in ensuring that EE management is accountable for how they manage the funds received/utilised and general operations of the organisation.
The National Council, therefore, invites suitable candidates to apply to form part of the Audit Committee, comprising members of the public, to assist it in achieving this and other objectives related to good corporate governance.
The Audit Committee shall advise on the following matters:
● Internal financial control and internal audits.
● Risk management.
● Accounting policies.
● The adequacy, reliability and accuracy of financial reporting and information.
● Effective governance.
● Advise on investment strategies
● Advise on funding strategies.
● Review the annual financial statements and the non-financial information.
● Perform such other functions as may be prescribed.
● In performing its duties, the committee will maintain effective working relationships with management and the internal and external auditors.
Terms of Office and Remuneration (Unpaid):
The term of office of appointed candidates will be three years, after which the NC will review it. People appointed to the Audit Committee are not remunerated. This position is unpaid.

Requirements:
● B- Degree in Auditing /Accounting/Risk Management, LLB/Development Finance
● Work Experience 5+ years’ experience in the field of Auditing, Accounting, Legal, Risk and Internal Audit.
● Non-profit experience will be an added advantage.
