Equal Education (EE) welcomes the publication of the regulations relating to Minimum Uniform Norms and Standards for Public School Infrastructure (http://equalizermagazine.files.wordpress.com/2013/01/minimum-n-and-s.pdf).

The publication is prior to the 15 January 2013 date stipulated in the settlement agreement (http://equalizermagazine.files.wordpress.com/2013/01/settlement.pdf) and we welcome that.

We are in the process of studying them and will comment on their contents once we have completed doing so. As part of examining the content of the draft 2013 Minimum Norms and Standards we will compare them to the 2008 draft (https://www.equaleducation.org.za/sites/default/files/Annexure%20YD39.pdf).

EE intends to exert every effort in the comings months to ensure that the Minimum Norms and Standards finalised before the agreed date of 15 May 2013 are of a high standard, such that they will serve to materially improve and equalise educational infrastructure in South Africa
