HEAD OF COMMUNICATIONS

Level: This is a national management-level position.

Position: The successful candidate will head up EE’s Communications Department responsible for all public and internal media. The position will involve guiding and informing communication of EE’s message to members, communities, press, government and civil society, build EE’s public image, and work closely with heads of provinces. The position will involve providing direction and oversight on multiple platforms such as mainstream print and broadcast media, social media (specifically Facebook and Twitter), EE’s website, email newsletter and annual report.

Qualifications, skills and competencies: A university degree, preferably post-graduate, outstanding written and oral communication skills, interest in working with young people, management experience is a plus, being multilingual is a plus, graphic/visual design skills a plus.

Location: The position is based at EE’s Khayelitsha Head Office.

SOCIAL MEDIA OFFICER

Level: This is an entry to mid-level staff position depending on the candidate.

Position: The position is within EE’s Communication’s Department. The position will involve production and dissemination of EE’s content across social media (Facebook/Twitter/Snapchat), responding to and following up on questions direct to EE on 
social media, drafting of newsletters to EE members and supporters, and working on EEs annual report.

Qualifications, skills and competencies: Candidates should be confident and regular social media users, visually attuned, consumers of news, with an interest in storytelling and content 
development. Relevant qualification will be a plus.

Location: The position is based at EE’s Khayelitsha Head Office.

PERSONAL ASSISTANT TO THE SECRETARIAT

Level: This is an entry to mid-level staff position depending on the candidate.

Position: This position is within EE’s Secretariat Office. It will primarily involve supporting the GS & DGS and administering the Secretariat’s office. It will involve organizing National Council and Secretariat meetings, liaising with EEs leadership to prepare the agenda for meetings, compiling and circulating a reading pack for NC meetings, recording and circulating minutes, keeping an up to date task list for Secretariat, running the office diary and other tasks requested by the Secretariat.

Qualifications, skills and competencies: A relevant qualification will be highly advantageous, candidates must have fast typing skills, strong writing skills, extremely organized, good communicator, computer skills: knowledge of word, excel, power point, use of internet, email, work well under pressure, available to work some evenings and weekends, interest in working with young people.

Location: The position is based at EE’s Khayelitsha Head Office.
