The Youth Department is responsible for the intellectual and political education of Equal Education movement members, known as ‘Equalisers’. The department develops educational activities and materials. These activities take place at weekly youth group meetings and help equalisers to comprehend and confront the unequal world around them. Youth activities and programmes build on what is learnt at school and offer equalisers the space to deepen their knowledge, through dialogue and debate. They often draw on current affairs, politics and examples from history covering a wide range of issues that affect young people such as gender, economic inequality and xenophobia. Our aim is to provide a safe space where learners can challenge themselves and explore their own values. All activities are compiled into an ever- expanding curriculum.
