Equal Education has compiled the most comprehensive study available regarding the provision of school libraries in South Africa. In a report titled "We Can't Afford Not To: Costing the provision of functional school libraries in South African public schools", EE makes the case for a National Policy on School Libraries. The report shows the demonstrated impact libraries have on academic performance, and surveys the current poor provision of access to books and reading materials in South Africa. It goes on to cost a potential national roll-out of school libraries and to show how this could be paid for over 10 years. To view the full report, click here.
